Moreh (מוֹרֶה) is the Hebrew word for "teacher." It's the same root used in Torah — the Law given as instruction. We named the app Moreh because that's what it's built to be: a daily teacher that meets you in Scripture and helps you go deeper, not just wider.
Theo is your AI Bible teacher — built with the warmth of a pastor and the curiosity of a scholar. He's trained on a deep knowledge of Scripture, church history, biblical languages, and the major classical commentators: Matthew Henry, Spurgeon, Adam Clarke, Jamieson-Fausset-Brown, John Gill, John Wesley, and the Geneva Bible notes. When you ask him a question, he draws on that knowledge alongside your own saved notes and active study plans — so his answers are grounded in your journey, not just generic theology.
Theo draws on the great classical commentators as part of his training — Matthew Henry, Charles Spurgeon, Adam Clarke, John Gill, John Wesley, Jamieson-Fausset-Brown, and the Geneva Bible notes, among others. He can represent their views, quote their insights, and tell you where they agree or differ on a passage. He also pulls images, maps, artifacts, and manuscripts from Wikimedia Commons when they help bring a passage or historical context to life — with full source attribution.
Your notes are yours. By default they are private and only visible to you. You can connect with study partners — and if you choose to make a note non-private, your partners can see it (and Theo can weave it into shared conversations). You are always in control. The free plan includes the full Bible reader (KJV), verse highlights and notes, curated and custom study plans, daily verse notifications, study partner connections, and up to 10 Theo conversations per day. It's a complete daily Bible study tool — no credit card required to get started.
Moreh Pro unlocks unlimited Theo conversations, access to all major Bible translations, multi-translation search, Theo's Take on any verse (inline commentary on demand), and priority support. Pro is $4.99/month or $37.99/year — less than a cup of coffee a month for a daily study companion.
You can cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings — the App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android. Your Pro access continues through the end of the billing period. You'll never be charged after you cancel, and your notes and study data are always yours to keep.
Your saved notes, highlights, and study plan progress are available offline. Bible content and Theo conversations require an internet connection since they pull from live Bible APIs and our AI service. We recommend downloading your favorite translation ahead of time on a good connection.
No. Moreh is built for Christians across all traditions — Baptist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Methodist, Anglican, non-denominational, and more. Theo never takes denominational sides; he presents traditions fairly and helps you understand where they agree and differ. You can set your faith tradition in your profile and Theo will frame his responses with that awareness while staying respectful of all perspectives.
